    What is Holistic Healing?Holistic Healing Alternative Medicine

    Holistic Healing or wholistic healing includes treatments that take an approach to healing the body through a balance in lifestyle and may focus on the mental health as well as the physical health. It is not an alternative medicine and differs from alternative medicine from the fact that it can sometimes focus more on mental healing of the mind.

     

    Philosophy of Holistic Healing

    Holistic healing is about removing discomfort and pain of the body from symptoms of imbalance of the body's flow. These could be results from lifestyle choices such as unhealthy diets, lack of exercise, or lack of sleep. Both the physical and mental health of a person is focused on in holistic healing. Evaluations and suggested treatments are all dependent on each unique individual. There are usually based on the philosophy of balancing the body’s internal energy.

    Unlike a general physical check up, a holistic healing check up asks questions related to emotion and other physical signs to check for signs of imbalance of energy flow. Some of the concerns in holistic healing check up includes checking of chakra alignment, breathing patterns, aura color, the energetic boundaries, and if a person is physically fulfilling their physiological needs properly.

    It is said that holistic healing can have physical benefits as well as mental benefits. Other than the calming of the mental mind, it is said that holistic healing can help with chronic diseases such as asthma, cancer, diabetes, or heart conditions or disorders.

    Ayurveda Treatment

    Ayurveda is a holistic type healing alternative medicine treatment from India that focuses on the use of herbs, yoga, and massage. It is based on the principle of the “five great elements”: earth, water, fire, air, and ether to balance the health of the body and a balance of the phlegm, wing, and bile.

     

    Acupuncture

    Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medical treatment through the use of filiform needles to press upon vital points in on the external body to balance the body’s Qi to relieve pain and is used for therapeutic purposes and is part of what is known as “information therapy”. Acupuncture has been used as an alternative to treating dermatological problems, pain, releasing toxin from the body, obesity, and various other disorders.

     

    Naturopathy

    Naturopathy or naturopathic medicine is an alternative medicine, which focuses on healing through natural remedies more so than through the use of drugs or surgical procedures. There are six core values of naturopathy for treatments provided to patients. The philosophy of naturopathy is based on focusing on the body’s own healing powers.

     

    Meditation

    Meditation is a form of holistic spiritual practice with a concentration process where reflexive thinking and attempting to go into a deeper state of relaxation is the main goal. It helps one to reflect upon their identity, resolve phobias, and sometimes reach enlightment of purposes in life.  Some types of meditative practices include yoga, mindfulness meditation, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and Mantra meditation

     

    Aroma Therapy

    Aroma Therapy uses volatile plant oil as an alternative treatment for psychological and physical uplifting and is used as alternative medicine. Aromatherapy usually includes essences from plants. Most of the essential oils used in aromatherapy also have antimicrobial properties, which can help treat infectious diseases and are sometimes used in pain management, anxiety treatments, or in combination with medical treatments to treat other diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease. Essential oils that are used in aromatherapy can range from over-the-counter medicines such as Vicks VapoRub or Mentholatum to combinations of other essential oils such as sea salt combination.
