What is Immunotherapy?

There are many types of bladder cancer treatments depending on many factors faced, usually depending on the type of bladder cancer a patient may have. Some of the most common treatments used are radiation therapy or chemotherapy. There is also the option of surgery or immunotherapy.

Immunotherapy (biologic therapy or biotherapy) is a treatment that uses the patient’s own immune system to fight cancer. The body’s immune system helps to prevent disease, and through stimulating the substances that occur naturally in the body, the natural defense in the treatment will stop or slow the growth of cancer cells.
