    Neurosurgery

Neurosurgery is surgery that is mainly concerned with the central and peripheral nervous system and spinal columns.Neurosurgery is usually performed to treat brain, spinal cord, and nervous system disorders such as chiari malformations, spinal disc herniation, spinal stenosis, hydrocephalus, spinal cord trauma, tumour of the spine, cerebral aneurysms, stroke and other nervous system related disorders.

Although there is a great advancement in technology so that more procedures become available in aiding in neurosurgery (such as the development of the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET), or the stereotactic surgery) there are many risks involved. Because neurosurgery deals with sensitive parts, such as the brain and the nervous system, if not conducted properly, a patient could result in paralysis, brain damage, infection, psychosis, and even death.

    Endovascular Neurosurgery

Endovascular Neurosurgery focuses on minimally invasive techniques that combine neurosurgery with interventional neuroradiology to treat diseases that has to do with blood vessels of the brain and spine. Techniques such as x-ray imaging, catheters, and other clotting agents are used and usually performed in fluoroscopy suites than in an operating room.

    Epilepsy

Epilepsy is a disorder in which unprovoked seizures occurs regularly but at any moment because of abnormal or excessive neuronal activity of the brain and is usually found in young children or old people over the age of 65. There is no cure for epilepsy but surgery is sometimes performed for extreme cases. More so than being just a disorder, it is usually a symptom for other neurological disorders pertaining to sporadic abnormal electrical brain activity.

    Microneurosurgery

Microneurosurgery is surgery that is performed on microscopic vessels and other miniscule parts of the nervous system with small-scale instruments and includes surgery methods such as endoscopic microneurosurgery or ultrasound microneurosurgery.

    Neuro-Oncological Surgery

Neuro-Oncological Surgery is surgery that focuses on brain tumor or abnormal growth of brain cells and can either be cancerous or non-cancerous such as single metastatic tumors or glioblastoma multiforme. Though neuro-oncological surgery is a common way to deal with brain tumor, sometimes tumor recurrences have a change of happening where the tumor regenerates and spread depending on the size and age of the tumor. Radiotherapy is a common alternative for secondary cancer brain tumors.

    Pediatric Neurosurgery

Pediatric Neurosurgery is neurosurgery, involving disorder of the spine, head, or nervous system especially concerned with children from infant to young adults. Although it is similar to adult neurosurgery, the problems chidren have are usually quite different than those found in their older counterparts and are often ongoing throughout their life. Disorders treated in Pediatric Neurosurgery include head deformities, spine deformities, gait abnormality, birth injuries or other brain, nerves, or spine problems.

    Stroke Neurosurgery

Stroke neurosurgery is surgery concerned with strokes or the sudden interrupting of blood flow to the brain.
