    The Identity of Thai Lanna Spa - Lanna Exotic

    4-6 February 2011

    To differentiate the Thai spa experience, from similar treatment traditions within the spa industry, the Thai Bureau of Policy and Strategy and the Thai Health Department has concluded the importance of creating a Thai uniqueness of image, sound, taste, scent and touch.

     

    The first step in this direction was taken in 2006, when the northern province ofChiang Mail started building up the image of Thai Northern Spa by combining the similarity of cultures of the provinces in the North of Thailand. Thanks to a budget of 28 million baht, there is now a training center at the Faculty of Nursing inChiang Mai University, functioning as the main place for spa service development.

     

    For the last 5 years, a new health service innovation called Thai Lanna Spa Identity has been developed, in collaboration between the Chiang Mai province and the Chiang Mai University. 

     

    The meaning of Thai Lanna Spa Identity

    • Identity refers to five elements, which are image, taste, scent, sound and touch. These effect people's perception of Thai Spa. 
    • Thai Lanna Art describes tradition and the culture from the North of Thailand, dating from before the King Mungrai era until now, and including that all tribes in the North.
    • Spa means the spa and health care business which comine the knowledge of massage, hydrotherapy and any kind of holistic health care. 

     

     

    Grand Opening - Themed Lanna Exotic

    On the 4-6 February 2011, the Chiang Mai Province together with the Thai Lanna Spa Association will hold a Grand Opening of Identity of Thai Lanna Spa at Chiang Mai Central Airport Plaza. This event aims to promote Chiang mai as the center of health and wellness destination in South East Asia.
