BNH Hospital provides the highest quality medical service with specialists and general practitioner doctors completely involved with their patients, from consultation and diagnosis, through to planning and executing treatment, following-up of results, and in surgical cases, post operative care. The concept of ‘the Family Doctor’ is still highly valued at the BNH Hospital.
Specialization
BNH Hospital has its roots in the British expatriate community in Thailand. Since the organization was established as a charitable non-profit institution, BNH still values its role as a contributor to the well-being of the inhabitants of Bangkok. BNH complex, for instance, organizes a major semi-annual fund raising event in the form of a 'bed push'.
BNH has stuck to its motto of being close to its patients, and the concept of the Family Doctor is still highly valued at the BNH Hospital.
History
BNH Hospital, formerly know as Bangkok Nursing Home Hospital, was originally established to provide nursing care for expatriates living in Thailand. The hospital was opened by the British Ambassador in Thailand, Mr. George Grenville in 1898, and was one of the first private medical facilities in the Kingdom of Siam (Thailand).
In 1901, King Rama VI granted the BNH Association, a non-profit making organization, a royal charter and provided funds for the hospital to extend its care to Thais. Between the years 1902 and 1912, the average load of patients were about 50, in comparison to over 70,000 patients annually today.
90 years later, in 1991, the BNH Medical Centre was formed to establish a new international standard hospital to meet the demands of the increasing domestic and international market for private healthcare. The new BNH Hospital complex became operational in 1996.
