The Spa Resort on Koh Samui Island (founded in 1992) was the first Health Destination Resort in Thailand. We have Health Destination Resorts on Koh Samui, Koh Chang, and our latest flagship resort (The Spa Resort Chiang Mai) overlooking idyllic rice paddies adjacent to a rural Thai Village in Northern Thailand.

We have developed and perfected specialized programs in Cleansing Detox, Weight Loss, Yoga, Meditation, and have Massage, Vegetarian, Vegan and, Raw foods. Our unique Detox Retreats, Yoga Retreats and Raw Food classes are all part of our “Five Habit System to Longevity”.

At The Spa Resorts, our endless pursuit is to help our guests learn more about taking better care of themselves. Guests learn to cleanse the body with Cleansing Detox, proper eating habits (raw food classes), appropriate exercise (Yoga), plus proper breathing (Yoga) and relaxing (Meditation).

At our Spa Resort in Chiang Mai, we now offer Yoga Retreats and Detox Retreats PLUS Boot Camp Weight Loss Retreats.

Our world famous Radiance Restaurants have the best Vegetarian, Vegan, & Raw Foods in Thailand. We enjoy the honor of having been selected as “one of the top 50 restaurants in the world” by Restaurant Magazine and one of the “10 Top Nutrition focused Resorts in Asia” by SpaAsia Magazine. Our restaurants serve organic produce from our very own organic farm in Chiang Mai.
 

The Spa Resort is one of the most impressive wellness institutions in Thailand, with four locations; Koh Chang, Chiang Mai, and two locations on Koh Samui. 

1. Chiang Mai

The Spa Resort Chiang Mai, our flagship location, is spread over 80,000 sq. meters of spectacular gently sloped hillside property. A veritable feast for the eyes – magical mango groves, lush rice paddies, exotic garden landscaping and the Spa’s own organic farm. The majestic architecture is inspired by the northern Thai Lanna style rooflines.

We are located in Mae Rim, a short drive from Chiang Mai city. This part of Thailand boasts the mildest year round temperatures and most unspoiled landscapes.

2. Koh Chang

The Spa Resort Koh Chang is on the 2nd largest island in Thailand. It’s also a National Park known for its peaceful setting mangroves next to the sea, surrounded by exotic tropical rain forest. The Spa Koh Chang Resort has all the same wonderful programs. Detox Cleansing, Yoga Classes and Raw Food.

3 & 4 Koh Samui

The Spa Resorts have two locations on the beautiful island of Koh Samui.

The beachfront Samui Beach overlooks the Gulf of Thailand on Lamai Beach. This location is where The Spa Resorts originated as Thailand’s first destination-health spa nearly 20 years ago.

The mountain side Samui Village is set on picturesque Samui Rock formations. Both locations have convenient shuttle bus services connecting guests to multiple activities.

All of the locations do Detox cleansing, Yoga classes, Raw Food classes and free Meditation classes.

The Founders of The Spa Resort

Guy & Toi Hopkins met in 1987 and embarked on a journey of health and wellness together. Guy is from California in the USA. Toi is from the Esan region of North-eastern Thailand.

Early on Guy was perplexed by the lack of information on how to best live a healthy life. What would it take to make us all feel healthy and happy? Is there a way to great health and longevity?

After studying at the Redwood College of Holistic Health in California in 1980, Guy decided to create a destination spa location in Thailand – combining the best of Asian massage principles (Toi has a family-lineage of traditional Thai massage expertise), Buddhist philosophy and newly learned health regimens.

The Spa Resorts opened on May 15th, 1992 on Koh Samui. Today, The Spa Resorts are in four locations: Samui Beach, Samui Village, Koh Chang and its’ flagship location is in the rolling hills of rural Chiang Mai.

Over the years, The Spa Resorts have been blessed with a loyal clientele, guests with compelling backgrounds from all over the world, creating a wonderful community.
